7th Dan Pattern

For 7th Dan testing, students must demonstrate proficiency in the final pattern:

  • Tong-Il - 56 movements

Grand Master Level Pattern Performance

At 7th Dan level, Tong-Il pattern performance must demonstrate:

  • Absolute technical perfection
  • Complete mastery of power generation and control
  • Perfect timing, rhythm, and flow
  • Deep understanding of pattern philosophy and meaning
  • Ability to teach and transmit pattern knowledge to others
  • Demonstration of advanced meditation and breathing techniques
  • Expression of the true spirit of TaeKwon-Do through movement

Complete Pattern Mastery

As a 7th Dan, students must demonstrate mastery of all 24 patterns of TaeKwon-Do, understanding their historical significance, technical applications, and philosophical meanings. They should be able to teach any pattern with complete accuracy and deep understanding.

The Final Pattern

Tong-Il represents the culmination of the TaeKwon-Do pattern system. It embodies the hope for Korean reunification and the ultimate goal of harmony and unity. As the highest pattern, it requires not only technical excellence but also a deep spiritual understanding of TaeKwon-Do's ultimate purpose.
