For 7th Dan testing, students must demonstrate proficiency in the final pattern:
Grand Master Level Pattern Performance
At 7th Dan level, Tong-Il pattern performance must demonstrate:
- Absolute technical perfection
- Complete mastery of power generation and control
- Perfect timing, rhythm, and flow
- Deep understanding of pattern philosophy and meaning
- Ability to teach and transmit pattern knowledge to others
- Demonstration of advanced meditation and breathing techniques

Complete Pattern Mastery
As a 7th Dan, students must demonstrate mastery of all 24 patterns of TaeKwon-Do, understanding their historical significance, technical applications, and philosophical meanings. They should be able to teach any pattern with complete accuracy and deep understanding.
The Final Pattern
Tong-Il represents the culmination of the TaeKwon-Do pattern system. It embodies the hope for Korean reunification and the ultimate goal of harmony and unity. As the highest pattern, it requires not only technical excellence but also a deep spiritual understanding of TaeKwon-Do's ultimate purpose.
Pattern Tong-Il
Tong-Il denotes the resolution of the unification of Korea which has been divided since 945. The diagram for this pattern symbolizes the homogeneous race.
