1st Dan Black Belt students must demonstrate mastery of all techniques learned from white belt through red belt, with advanced proficiency, power, and control.

- Multiple directional kicking sequences
- Advanced spinning and turning kicks
- Combination kicks with hand techniques
Advanced Hand Techniques
- All previous hand techniques with black belt level proficiency
- Advanced striking combinations
- Simultaneous hand and foot techniques
- Multiple opponent scenarios
- Advanced blocking and counter-attacking
Advanced Stances
- Perfect execution of all fundamental stances
- Advanced stance transitions
- Combat applications of stances
- Power generation through proper stance work
Step Sparring
- Advanced 1-step sparring with multiple variations
- Multiple attacker scenarios
- Advanced self-defense applications
- Teaching ability for step sparring
Free Sparring
- Advanced free sparring techniques
- Competition-level sparring
- Multiple rounds with different opponents
- Demonstration of control, technique, and strategy
Tournament Competition
Must have competition experience and demonstrate tournament-level patterns and sparring techniques.
Community Service
Must have completed the required 10 hours of community service since beginning training.
Seminars
Must have attended all four required seminars:
- Kicking seminar
- Technique/Patterns seminar
- Referee/Sparring seminar
- Self Defense/Ho Sin Sul seminar
